Locals may have noticed work being undertaken on the southern and western flanks of Harwood this winter. This was part of our latest restoration work where we have planted 500 native trees which showcases our ongoing efforts to transform the quarry for future generations.
The new trees will add natural beauty to the quarry and the surrounding area, improving the visually appeal. Not only that, but the trees will also provide habitats for a range of local wildlife, contributing to the biodiversity of the area.
As they grow, the trees will also provide natural carbon capture which contributes to the fight against climate change.
Our commitment to restoring Harwood Quarry extends far beyond this recent tree-planting project. We are dedicated to the continued improvement of the quarry’s environmental sustainability, whilst also benefiting the local community in the future.
